PRO-TECH TITAN

Does the software have a help file or knowledge base?

Yes, there is a built-in knowledge base in PRO-TECH TITAN.

Simply click “Help” in the upper right hand corner of the software to access release notes and detailed instructions on how to navigate the software.

How do I backup my TITAN Database?

Your PRO-TECH TITAN data is always backed up by Amazon AWS.  The AWS Backup is a fully managed backup service that makes it easy to centralize and automate the back up of data across AWS services in the cloud.

How do I change my TITAN Password?

Changing your password is as easy as clicking “Forgot Password?”.  You’ll receive an email to reset your password.

Is the cloud secure?

TITAN is built on the cloud-based Amazon Web Services (AWS) platform and offers more security than a traditional on premise server configuration. One of the biggest benefits of storing data in the cloud via AWS is the enterprise level of security protection and encryption that AWS provides.  On premise configurations require firewalls to be installed and encryption software needs to be installed, ran, and maintained.  With PRO-TECH TITAN, all your security needs are covered.

What browsers are supported for PRO-TECH TITAN?

Chromium browsers (Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Opera, Brave, etc.) and Firefox. Safari should also work, technically so should any browser, however we only test with Chromium and Firefox.

Are there any other Microsoft Integrations?

Accounting integrations such as with Business Central are possible and covered as an addendum to the license agreement.  The depth and details of these integrations often vary based on customer need.

How do upgrades happen?

Software upgrades happen automatically.  Software upgrades occur every 4 weeks but often occur weekly.  Although the software updates cause approximately 2-3 minutes of downtime, they are performed off hours – at night or on weekends.

Price book upgrades in TITAN are transparent.  No downtime is required.  New price books and new versions of price books simply become available in TITAN.

Can TITAN integrate with my Accounting System?

Today, TITAN has integrations with QuickBooks Online & Contract ERP along with some customer specific “one-off” solutions.  Other integrations are in development.

What is the documented uptime for the site? 

PRO-TECH TITAN uptime is directly related to Amazon Web Services uptime.  To date, there have been no outages.

Is there an Active Directory integration?  

Federation with other identity providers is provided for as part of our login system

PRO-TECH Version 8

Is there a cloud-version of PRO-TECH+® Version 8?

Yes, PRO-TECH Version 8 can be hosted in Amazon AppStream2.0 and Citrix.  If you prefer a cloud-based hosting and would rather PRO-TECH host the database, we offer Database Hosting via Amazon.

What are the On- Premise Server System Requirements for PRO-TECH+® Version 8?

Operating System

  • PRO-TECH will run on any Windows Operating System
  • Windows Server 2019 is recommended

Hardware:

  • RAM: 8GB RAM (64-bit OS) minimum / 16GB RAM recommended
  • Memory: 200 GB of free space minimum / 1+ TB recommended (Virtual Machine is ideal)
  • Hard Drive: HDD sufficient (7200 RPM min/15,000 RPM rec) / SSD recommended
  • Processor: Quad Core 2.5 GHz minimum /  6 Core 3.5 - 4.0 GHz recommended
What are the On-Premise Client specs for PRO-TECH+® Version 8?

Operating System

  • PRO-TECH will run on any Windows Operating System
  • Windows 10 is recommended

Hardware:

  • RAM: 4GB RAM (32-bit OS) minimum / 8GB RAM (64-bit OS) recommended
  • Memory: 25GB of free space minimum / 50GB recommended 
  • Hard Drive:  HDD sufficient (7200 RPM min / 15,000 RPM rec) / SSD recommended
  • Processor: Dual Core 1.6+ GHz minimum /  Quad Core 3.5+ GHz recommended
  • Screen Resolution: 1600 x 900 minimum / 1920 x 1080 Recommended

Is the PRO-TECH+® Version 8 Hosted Amazon AppStream2.0 Cloud environment secure?

If you decide to have PRO-TECH host your database, it is built on the cloud-based Amazon Web Services (AWS) platform and offers more security than a traditional on premise server configuration. One of the biggest benefits of storing data in the cloud via AWS is the enterprise level of security protection and encryption that AWS provides.  On premise configurations require firewalls to be installed and encryption software needs to be installed, ran, and maintained. 

Will PRO-TECH Support update my Version and Price books?

PRO-TECH Support will assist with an update during regular business hours.  Hosted customers will receive automatic Version and Price books updates off hours.  If you chose to run your updates off hours, contact support update instructions.

How long do PRO-TECH+® Version 8 Updates take?

The time an update will run varies, depending on database size and server specifications.  Typically, an update will take 1 hour for every 8GB of data.

EX: If your database is 30GB, it can take up to 4 hours to complete the update.

 

Will PRO-TECH+® Version 8 run on Mac OS?

PRO-TECH+ Version 8 will only work under a Windows OS.  If the Mac has Windows installed on it as a 2nd OS then PRO-TECH+® Version 8 will run on the Windows OS.

PRO-TECH+ Version 8 will not work directly under the Mac OS unless you have PRO-TECH host your database and run the software over AWS
